Bombas Gens Centre d’Arts Digitals isn’t just a museum housed in a grand old factory. It’s the quiet tale of a building that refused to disappear, a survivor stitched together from war, neglect, and fierce local devotion. Imagine walking into a place that began as a hydraulic pump factory and ends up as a beacon for immersive art.

The hinge point is 1930, when the architect Cayetano Borso di Carminati designed a factory that would occupy an entire block on the avenue of Burjassot, at numbers 54 and 56, with offices facing the street and the workshops behind. A palace-like villa stood nearby—the family home of the owners—signaling that this was a family business with real roots in the neighborhood. From the first brick, the building wore its era: an Art Deco taste filtered through the Land of Valencia.

The facade is infused with water motifs, a visual nod to the business’s purpose—pumps and hydraulics. Above the entrance, you might notice a refined restraint, but look closer and you’ll see the decorative language that ties the architecture to the company’s identity—ferro, glass, and a light that speaks of 1930s Valencia.
