This church became the imperial parish church in 1634, hosting a string of illustrious weddings, including Maria Theresa’s 1736 wedding to Duke Francis of Lorraine, Marie Louise’s 1810 wedding to Napoleon, Maria Leopoldina’s 1817 wedding to Dom Pedro, and Franz Joseph’s 1854 wedding to Elisabeth in Bavaria.
